Car Battery Completely Dead No Lights

If your headlights and radio won’t turn on, and your car also won’t start, then the problem is usually a dead battery. I went to jump start it this morning, ran it 20km ( 30 minutes ) to work and after turning it off, the battery is 100% dead.

No noises at all when trying to start the car, power locks don’t.

Car battery completely dead no lights. So, my car battery died 4 months ago while it was unused in my garage during the summer (interior dome light left on for months). Your vehicle started just fine yesterday, but today it is entirely dead. Some of these factors are:

To disconnect the jumper cables, start with the black cable clamps. Weird cause my lights had been off and i’d never had anything go wrong with the battery before, always starts right away. No interior lights, dash wouldn’t light up, nothing.

All i can say is that they are not hard to test. Then, when you start the car, the power will come from your battery and not flow through the cable. If the voltage still doesn’t rise above 2 or 3, that means the battery is completely dead and you need a new one.

The on board computer has been acting strangely and then it shut down completely and now there is no power at all to my vehicle. These smaller wires will have fuse links. Car was working fine during the day.

Ultimate alternator abuse happens when you run a car with a discharged battery because, while an alternator does keep the charge on the battery topped up, it is not a battery charger and asking it to charge a discharged battery is abusive to it. Two weeks ago my car was dead, charged battery and car was okay for an hour but then battery died again. No issues for about a week, but then i came outside one morning, and the car was completely dead.

I bought a new battery and a week later the car is dead again. No cranking and no lights. If one of the links burns/blows, then whatever that wire powers on the car will be dead.

Battery, battery cables, fuses, ignition switch, park/neutral switch, starter relay, and the actual starter are part of the staring system and could cause the vehicle not to start for the guy that said he had this exact problem and it ended up being his alternator i have to say, you must have had incredibly perfect timing that your alternator went bad, started to slowly kill your battery since all the electronics of the vehicle. If you never did any maintenance to your car battery, it could absolutely be the cause of your dead car battery. Continue doing so for a few minutes.

Start the functioning car's engine. Car battery death, for the purposes of this article, refers to the battery’s inability to hold a charge, usually caused by sulfation. If your engine doesn't crank, you can’t start your car, and there are no lights, then your battery may or may not be at fault for the car completely dead, but the battery is good.

Faulty door switch or fuse. Sometimes it helps to rev the functioning car's engine a bit. These are the signs that your battery may be completely dead:

If not then the battery is completely dead or disconnected or ignition switch is bad if yes, then the starter relay is probably bad or a fuse is blown. I can't even engage the door locks it's so dead. A weak battery will abuse an alternator.

The large terminal on the solenoid should have the battery cable, and usually two, sometimes more hot wires that power the rest of the car.headlights, horn, etc. Just went to leave for vacation towing a car trailer.turned the truck around.went back. Once both cars are started, leave them running for a few minutes.

The engine doesn’t even crank or start, and there are no interior lights in the car. At its most basic, a car battery is constructed of alternating plates of dissimilar metals, usually lead and lead oxide (pb and pbo 2 ), in an electrolyte bath, usually sulfuric acid (h 2 so 4 ) in water. No lights my key wont make it chirp it is just dead.

Went to drive to work and noticed a warning light that looked like a battery on, still continued to drive when i noticed lights in car were fading away and the head lights were dimming, and other warning lights came on. First of all, when you jump the car, allow the cables to be connected for a few minutes before even trying to start the car. Headlights and radio won’t turn on, or headlights are very dim.

(no cranking noise when you try to turn the key) i assumed it was because the battery was old, and the car had just been sitting there for. This will suck some of the charge from the donor car to the car with the dead battery charging it some. How to tell if my battery is completely dead?

Went home and parked the car, next day tried to start it and it’s completely dead. As you know, the battery is in charge of powering all electrical. This includes cleaning the terminals, filling with battery water (if the battery has this refilling holes), and maintaining recharge your car battery quite often.

Wait a minute or two and try starting the car with the dead battery. The car has been sitting in the shop for a week and they do not know what is wrong?:cryin: Blown main fuse, corroded battery connections, or other wiring issues.

For starters, if your car has a completely dead battery it will start acting up but if you want to make sure, check the voltage. A couple weeks ago i went to my car and tried to turn it on and nothing happened. Asked by blackbitch in granite bay, ca on december 06, 2012.

Start the car which has the good condition battery, and the dead battery would start charging. And if appropriate testing shows it is no. So there’s no telling about the alternator.

Now, the second negative of the jumper cable should be connected to the metallic portion of the car which contains the dead battery. The lock buttons would not work either. To cut to the chase, and just before we get to the meaty stuff, a “dead” car battery is an indicator of different factors—and almost always, these occur all at the same time.

If you find yourself in this situation, you need to narrow down why your car is completely dead, but the battery is good. Now after few minutes have elapsed, you should start the car with the flat battery.
